S’more, Please!

Summer is in full swing, and that can only mean one thing. It’s s’mores season! Find me a combo that's more quintessentially summer than gooey marshmallow, melty chocolate, and a crunchy, sweet graham cracker. Go on, I’ll wait. Sitting around a campfire (or our kitchen table), toasting marshmallows is one of my favorite camping traditions and is quickly becoming a favorite backyard tradition. A few years ago, we posted about our favorite s’more variations. Today, we’re updating that list and including a new option. Dig in!

The S’moreo

If you feel the classic s’more isn’t decadent enough, try sandwiching marshmallows and chocolate between MORE marshmallows and chocolate. There are two variations of the s’moreo. First, you may choose to use only one Oreo. In that case, separate the Oreo into two sides. Hopefully you’ve managed to get the filling all on one side. Holding the Oreo filling side up, layer on your chocolate chunk and your toasted mallow. Top with the remaining half of Oreo and devour.

If you want to go wild and use two Oreos (good decision), put your chocolate chunk and toasted mallow on a whole Oreo and top with a second Oreo. Enjoy.

The Peanut Butter Dream

For this variation, simply swap out the chocolate chunk for a mini Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. Or a regular-sized one. No one’s watching. Top with that gooey marshmallow and sail away into the sunset with your peanut butter, chocolate, and marshmallow concoction.

The Jamwich S'more

Here’s where we get fancy. Start with the graham cracker, and liberally spread some strawberry jam (or raspberry, blueberry, boysenberry, or orange marmalade. Again, no one is watching). Layer on the chocolate chunk and the marshmallow and top with the second graham. Whoa, am I right?

The Nutella Delight

This one’s for my mother-in-law. She loves Nutella more than any other person I know. Here we go. Spread a little Nutella on that graham cracker. Toast that mallow to perfection, pop it on top, and the sandwich on the second half of the graham cracker.

Cookie Monster S'more

Similar to the Nutella Delight, the Cookie Monster is a delicious variation sure to make your wildest dreams come true. Haven’t heard of cookie butter? It’s smashed up gingersnaps or something. For this s’more, do exactly what you did for the Nutella Delight. Take half your graham, spread it with cookie butter, top it with a chocolate chunk and marshmallow, sandwich with second half of graham cracker. It’s elegant, yet homey.

BONUS:

The Sweet n’ Salty

Full disclosure: I’ve never tried this before. But it sounds great! Instead of graham crackers, use Ritz (or similar) crackers for your base! After toasting your marshmallow, sandwich it between chocolate with a touch of sea salt and two Ritz crackers. Guaranteed to satisfy both your sweet and salty cravings!

We were recently gifted a tabletop s’more maker (not sponsored!), and we’ve been able to add a little magic to our summer evenings. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fun activity to do as a family. It’s also been fun to pull out for parties and home date nights!

Have a magical summer creating s’mores and happy memories with your friends and family! From your friends at Flat Creek Inn.
